Secondary School Physical Education Teachers' Use of ICT in Schools
Main Article Content
Abstract
Modern 21st-century education is increasingly inseparable from the application of information and communication technologies (ICT) (Maksimović & Lazić, 2023). The emergence and incorporation of new technologies in education can support students’ learning activities both in school and at home (Taylor & Sherin, 2013). The innovations offered by digital technology provide an opportunity to enhance the teaching and learning process in physical education. However, this transformation cannot be achieved without well-prepared physical education teachers who effectively utilize ICT tools. The aim of our cross-sectional study was to explore how and to what extent secondary school physical education teachers (n = 228) in our sample use ICT tools in the teaching and learning process, as well as their attitudes toward integrating ICT into physical education lessons. In order to successfully integrate ICT tools into physical education, it is essential to explore and identify teachers’ usage patterns and perspectives on these technologies.
